Lift Our Kids MA is the coalition committed to improving the lives of our state’s most vulnerable children and families. In both 2018 and 2019 the legislature passed legislation to repeal the Family Cap in Massachusetts, a policy that denies welfare benefits to 8,700 children conceived while – or soon after – the family received benefits. After a Governor’s veto, the legislature plans to pass Family Cap repeal via override in spring of 2019. In 2019, State Senator Sal DiDomenico and Representative Marjorie Decker introduced legislation to Lift Kids Out of Deep Poverty. Field First works with Lift Our Kids MA to support their coalition organizing, grassroots lobbying efforts, support tracking, earned media events, and runs their digital platforms.
